“Side Roads” is a collection of short stories that bridges Part I & III

One year to the day after the debut of Part I, “Side Roads” will be released on Wednesday, September 22: the 2021 Autumn Equinox. The second installment of A Pendale Tale sees an old friend from Part I and two new acquaintances take their own mind-bending trips down three different side roads. Their respective journeys will make them question what “home” really means:
Daphne Digby is a twenty-something socialite who doesn’t know who she is or what she wants to do with her life. Her wealthy parents and childhood best friends grow less and less helpful and become more of a hindrance to her evolution. Surrounded by skepticism, a sense of self-worth eludes her and she starts to drown in overindulgence. A reunion with her favorite cousin Ian and his 2-year-old fraternal twins Viola and Sebastian sets off a series of events that lead her on a path towards transcendence.
After the sudden death of his father, Patrick “Paddy” Roling can’t help but blame himself. The beloved patriarch was rushing home to celebrate his son’s birthday. The angst the twelve-year-old goes through sends him on a downward spiral. Paddy’s much-older and well-respected brother cares for him but is away at college and doesn’t have the time to help. His mother is torn between outrage and sorrow as she starts to lose control of her life and her grief-stricken son. The second son of the family finds a surprising route to redemption from an unreliable source.
Persephone Perry is both adored and feared. The otherworldly abilities of the renowned psychic have been a blessing and a curse over the course of her thirty-five years on this plane of existence. Just as she is about to reach the pinnacle of acclaim, the tall and charismatic faerie experiences a power source that shakes her foundation. A Pendale Tale Part I centered on 12-year-old Viola Ferriman, a young soccer star who leads her fraternal twin brother Sebastian on a life-altering journey. The siblings travel to a parallel dimension where “magic” takes on a new meaning. In 2022, Part III will turn the page to Sebastian’s side of this fantastic story in the next full-length entry into the book series.
